Volume #18, Issue #6 -- December 1991

EDITORIAL

As we step deeper into the '90s, environmental problems are mounting faster than we can recognize them. We keep uncovering garbage, more rainforests go up in smoke, the hole in the ozone layer is getting bigger, efficient lighting is too expensive, budget cuts are limited recycling programs, wetlands are being drained, animals are being slaughtered… I could go on, but my intention is not to depress you. This digression is just a reminder that we can each make a difference. You've heard it before and it will always stand true--"Remember, leave only footprints."

Hearing from you is important to us. We can't print all of the letters we receive, but we read them all and try to use a sample of each opinion. These opinions don't necessarily reflect mine, but our letter column is an open forum. It is not my place to censor other people's thoughts. SO keep writing. Your suggestions are always welcome.

As we turn our backs on days gone by, we look to the brightness of tomorrow. Filled with hope we enter a new year in anticipation of its promise. All of us here at Relix want to wish you a very happy holiday season and an inspirational new year. "Let there be songs to fill the air."

With warmest wishes,

Toni A. Brown, Publisher

As we go to press, the news has reached us that Bill Graham was killed in a helicopter crash on October 25. Graham's contributions to a musical generation have touched us all. We dedicate this issue to his memory. Our sincerest regrets go out to his family and friends, and to Relix readers who were among his biggest fans. We will feature an extensive Bill Graham retrospective in our next issue.
