Volume #19, Issue #2 -- April 1992

EDITORIAL

With so many years under their belts, the Grateful Dead have gone through relatively few major changes. Still, some things remain constant... Rumors. We've all heard them, many have spread them, and some have created them. When Jerry Garcia did his latest interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he mentioned that it wouldn't be a bad idea for the band to take off to do some work on the creative end. National news media grabbed that one remark (out of an extensive, candid, and well-written article) and ran with it. "Grateful Dead Taking Hiatus," screamed the headlines. With a little investigation, it wasn't difficult for the media to find out that Spring Tour dates had already been scheduled!

Remember that rumors are just that… rumors.

On a more personal note… knowing every issue of Relix is shared with so many friends is overwhelming. I try not to dwell on the overall reality, but it creeps into the back of my psyche never-the-less. I'd like to hear from you if you have criticism about any aspect of the magazine. Relix is, and will always be a magazine for its readers by its readers. Every letter is read and we review every submission seriously. Anything that helps complete the puzzle that comprises each issue is a welcome addition. Stories, interviews, photos, artwork, puzzles, letters… all are necessary to complete the picture. We can't use everything, but what does pas my desk is special in that it inspires the creative process that goes into each issue.

With all of the information sources available to Deadheads today, Relix takes pride in providing readers with the most comprehensive, up-to-date, far-reaching coverage of the extended scene to be found. You will find it all within our pages. And if you don't see something you'd like to know more about, please ask for it.

I look forward to hearing from you. Your voice is an echo of the greatest show on earth. Let your words resound.

Happy, happy… joy, joy
